Here's some stuff

Here are some things I've done since my last post.... some aren't finished.

Back to school

My first week back has been pretty crazy. I have a one page abstract to write for thesis, a 1200 word paper to write as well as a stack of theoretical criticisms to read and a presentation that's next thurs. to prepare for in my theory class, a drawing and painting to do for homework in two other classes as well as prepare for my group critique in two weeks. This is every thing graduate school should be, and I can rest assured that I'm getting an excellent education for all this money I'm spending.... speaking of which, thank you Mommy and Daddy for buying all those art supplies, the car, and the various other expenses I incur :)

One picture is my stack of readings for the semester for theory and the other is a painting I did in class.

Here's my new studio! Just to give an idea of how awesome the natural light is, these pictures were taken without any lights on and it was a cloudy morning. Dork that I am, I chose this studio because I thought the windows had character; character being bullet holes...

Here are some works in progress that I've painting since school let out. This is the beginning of the series that I'll be starting my thesis with.

Here are a couple things I did during the semester that I never got around to posting.

I put an apple in the life painting because I got bored (it was a four day pose and I was working on a fairly small canvas) and I think it's actually my favorite part of the painting. The other piece was one I just did for fun.

Here are some things I've been working on. Some are ideas, some are from workshops, some are assignments.

yet another self portrait attempt. I'm still working on it, but I think this one's better. The other is a portrait done in class. The model has all kinds of crazy tattoos and peircings; he was an elder vampire in the movie Blade. His likeness isn't so great, but I took pictures of the pose to work on later.

The drawing is a life- portrait done in my drawing class. The painting is another one done from life in Randall's figure class that I've been auditing on Wednesdays. I think both were probably
done in about 3 hours.
